Feedback and Comments:
- We recommend placing the LAT under your Introductory Module on Canvas or whichever module you use to house other related details and documents such as your syllabus, contact information, etc. Just make sure to make the LAT visible and easily accessible to the students.
- Dr. Grace, upon discussing with her class, decided to use Facebook especially for those students who relied heavily on their mobile data which usually came with packages that allowed them to access Facebook more easily than Canvas.
- If the students would like a platform for these kinds of details outside of Canvas, feel free to discuss with them which one they prefer. For instance, Telegram is also a great platform for communication and updates.
- If you’d like a template to create your own LAT, download one here. Clicking on the link will prompt you to “Make a copy” of a Google Document – once this has been done, be sure to rename the template to your preference!
“Our teacher provided us with a shared Google Doc called “Learning Activity Tracker” which helps us know the agenda within the day in detail and if we’ll be having a synchronous or an asynchronous class for the day– I’d much prefer this than waiting for the teacher to announce as we can open it and check whenever we can.”

“I really liked how the modules were given at the beginning of the week, giving us enough time to accomplish them. I was able to learn how to manage my time by dividing the module requirements into mini-tasks that I should accomplish each day.”

Understands the learner | Professors usually understand how much students have on their plates, and how challenging it is to keep track of everything. Providing a tracker like this can help ease this aspect of student life. This can also help/encourage students to develop trackers of their own so they can be responsible over their academic work. |
Thoughtfully done | The LAT has to be well made – organized and easy for students to understand and follow. |
