The first-ever Teacher Recognition Awards ceremony was unveiled during the World Teachers’ Day celebration in October of 2022. The overall goal of this project is to promote knowledge of the U.N.I.T.A.S. Design Principles and how they contribute to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as to support educators who excel in teaching and learning at the institutional level. The University Student Government, PHAROS (the student organization of the School of Education and Human Developmen – SED), and the Center for Teaching and Learning collaborated on the aforementioned project to make sure it was a success. Numerous teachers, employees, and students have expressed their gratitude and desire to take part in upcoming award ceremonies and Teachers’ Day celebrations.

The UA&P Distinguished Teaching Award recognizes faculty members who exemplified excellence in teaching. Recipients of this award have effectively and efficiently applied the UA&P Educational Learning Design Principles (UNITAS) to their teaching thus creating optimal learning experiences.
