The Teaching and Learning Festival was a three-day series of lounge sessions in celebration of World Teachers’ Day.

Taking Learning Seriously: Committing to Lifelong Learning

Speakers: Ms. Josefti Nito, Mr. Roshan Uttamchandani, and Mr. Ramon Villareal

This plenary session discussed insights on how teachers can adopt a lifelong learning perspective, as well as UA&P alumni-turned-faculty sharing their journey now being at the other side of the classroom

Taking Content Seriously: Feedback-Powered Teaching for Enhancing Content

Speaker: Dr. Pia Patricia Garcia

Dr. Garcia shared how she gives time to provide specific feedback to her students, whether to help them improve or to recognize their abilities. She also talked about how students receiving feedback would be encouraged to communicate, which allows [the teacher] to assess content and pedagogy.

Taking Teaching Seriously: Exploring the Multiple Tracks of Faculty Scholarship

Speaker: Dr. Celerino Tiongco

This particular session delivered by Dr. Tiongco aimed to enhance UA&P faculty members’ appreciation of the various modes and paths of scholarly development in higher education, and enable them to choose the track or tracks that best suit their professional and academic interests within the broader context of the University’s strategic directions as an educational institution.
